Interior designers are making use of floral/bird patterns in wallpapers that if done incorrectly, can turn into patterns that you would find at your grandmother’s home.  There is a very fine line between Laura Ashley and what designer Bailey McCarthy has done in her own home.  Bailey can be found at PeppermintBliss and she has a keen eye as an interior designer and is a successful bedding designer/business owner of Biscuit.  Her design/color board outlines the design elements of her own home.  Her taste is impeccable and she keeps the floral pattern modern by incorporating modern colors and cheeky art.

I’ve put a link to the high-end Anthropologie wallpaper she used as well as one stylish bargain wallpaper that features a beautiful and sophisticated vignette with flowers and birds.  The high end option is exquisite, but expensive.  As an aside, I’ve found that if you are a rent, you can frame a small piece of wallpaper instead of hanging it and it works as art and you get to take it with you.
