High-End vs Bargain: “Hotel” Style Bedding

Bedding is expensive – there is no way around it. Since you use it every night, its important to splurge.

If you are starting out with basics or want a classic look that is amenable to change in color (accessories, shams) get the clean, modern lines of Hotel-Style bedding. Its shocking, but E-bay supposedly has sheets that are of higher quality than Restoration Hardware’s version, at half the price. Compare 200 thread count sheets at RH to 400 on E-Bay! I honestly can’t even tell the difference. Can you? Let us know in the comments.

Wingback Chairs: High-End vs Stylish Bargain

We all know Ikea is not exactly known as a bastion of quality or style, but in this case, this is an actual vintage Ikea item that has been brought back recently and it does not scream Ikea. Interestingly, I think the Ikea version looks way more luxe than the Restoration Hardware version. I think Restoration Hardware was trying to “update” the legs to make it modern, but I think it just looks cheap. Ikea does the mid-century modern legs and I think they totally work.
